Free Beauty Power!

Got this Beauty Power Salon gift certificate from Powerplant Mall for free! Picked it up at the cool and colorful Urban Bazaar yesterday. It's not really a biggie, but I love getting freebies! Most especially during hard times (read: now), saving money from what you could have originally paid for feels great.

I told you before I'm a low maintenance gal and don't spend much in beauty treatments, but now I don't have a reason not to go to the salon, do I?

The Project that Turned not so Wonderful

I am making this post to extend my apology to my advertisers in Project Wonderful. I’m very thankful for the trust you’ve placed in my blog to help promote your sites, products and services, but the network no longer sees it fit to continue serving ad spaces at the moment.

After almost 9 months of being a publisher, my ad boxes were deleted without warning, due to this reason:

“During a routine review of our publishers, this ad box was found to be violating our Terms of Service and/or failing to meet our publisher standards, and was therefore removed from our network.”

I wish they have specifically stated what violation has been committed, because to the best of my understanding, my blog complies with the TOS. I was about to draft a one page rant letter when I read the publisher guidelines. It turns out that they are not too thrilled with blogs that post sponsored content.

Fine.

Well, without a doubt, that must be ‘it’. I don’t know if this part is new, or I just missed reading it when I signed up. You know how lazy some people are in reading the fine print (including me!).

Anyways, maybe it’s time to try and move on to other networks or just devise my own ad placement system. Whatever I end up doing, I hope you’ll still be there to support this site. :)

What Have I Been Up To?

Not much.

Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t been doing my Entrecard rounds lately, as I religiously did in the past. Things have gotten busy in the real world, and the search for Christmas gifts has taken over one of the top spots in my priority list. Forgive me if I missed commenting on your new posts, but I try to read as much whenever I can.

After switching to my own domain, my Alexa and Technorati rankings both suffered. I know it’s a phase everyone has to go through when shifting URLs. But I’m glad the former is catching up with the original figures.

I also had a little trouble with my SocialSpark account’s Real Rank due to the URL change, but had no problems with the rest. Until lately, when I had difficulty posting in PayPerPost and keep getting a "404-we-blame-Dan" page, that I realized it's not yet over. So I lost a lot of opportunities along the way, but I’m looking forward to a brand new year where hopefully, things will be better for my blogging endeavors.

This has fairly been a good blogging year. Barefooted Me started in early March with no blogging background whatsoever, grappling in the dark, and before I know it she has already turned 9 months old!

To my wonderful Entrecard supporters and advertisers from Project Wonderful who trust their ad placement in this blog, thank you. Please visit them, they are all truly talented and have great blogs and product offerings.

I’d like to thank everybody who keeps on dropping by here and showing my blog some love. Promise, I’ll catch up with you guys later! :)

Now that I've gotten all that gratitude off my chest, it's time that I get myself a decent dose of Zzzzs. I haven't been sleeping well for a while and I sooo need to recharge.

A Quickie!

Given the fact that I am not quite fit to blog right now, I will just leave a quick post about a few updates on this two-month old baby that I am really happy about.

I noticed that my Alexa traffic rank updated today from 574,984 to 470,966! (I hope this is not a glitch!) Considering that a new blog starts from oblivion with a rank of 29,000,000++, for a two-month old, it is cool to be in the 400-500k bracket. Also, my Technorati has increased to 224 with a rank of 29,889, and so did my Blog Juice to 2.5 (not really updated, as my Alexa in the equation is still at 574,984). My blog worth now amounts to a whopping $107,262.60. How I wish I could encash it and buy a pink MacBook Air or something, huh? :P

Have you checked your stats lately? I suggest you download the Alexa Toolbar here to monitor your ranking and also to view instantly, the traffic rank of each site that you visit. I read somewhere that the more Alexa Toolbar users that visit your site, the better ranking you get.

Before I end this post, I would like to thank everyone who spares some of their time each day to visit me here. To my friends who linked me in their blogs, tagged me and did my tags as well, thank you.
