KCee: The Intellectual Engineer

I love this new tag from Ris. I didn't realize that Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Socrates, former US Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Gerald Ford, James Madison, John Quincy Adams, John Tyler and I have something in common, until I took this personality test! Apparently, we all fall under the NT Temperament - The Intellectuals.

Never thought I had the makings of a US President, hehehe :P

Click to view my Personality Profile page

Some bits and pieces of my so-called personality:

"INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to most anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves."

-INTP Profile (TypeLogic)

"INTPs live in the world of theoretical possibilities. They see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. They live primarily inside their own minds, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. They seek clarity in everything, and are therefore driven to build knowledge. They are the "absent-minded professors", who highly value intelligence and the ability to apply logic to theories to find solutions."

-Portrait of an INTP (The Personality Page)

"likes solitude, not revealing, unemotional, rule breaker, avoidant, familiar with the darkside, skeptical, acts without consulting others"

-Jung Type Descriptions (INTP) (similarminds.com)

Hey Lorelie, Gizelle, Mars, RedRogue, Dada, RedRuby, Weng, Liza, Angel, Bang and Ruby, what’s your personality type? :)

Just a Quickie

Wow, my eyes are hurting pretty bad... I need to get some sleep. I slept past 4:30 am and went to work at 8:00 am, today.

Tsk, tsk, tsk, unhealthy habit. This usually happens when I'm doing some rush freelance gig.

Anyways, I'll just share a photo I took a few days back, using my Fuji digital camera. It's a slim and compact camera, and it's light pink! (as if that helped describe the model, huh). Took this shot in our garden just a little after sunset.

Camera model to follow. But surely, it's nothing professional.

Earth Angel

My earth angel (aka the Little Lady) was requested to take part in the annual traditional Easter celebration, the Salubong.

The celebration, traditionally held at dawn, dramatizes the meeting of the risen Christ and His beloved mother, Mary, after His resurrection. This includes two separate processions for each, in opposite routes, and then later on meeting at the front of the church, while the angels sing in (a makeshift) heaven.

We had to wake up at 3:30 am, as the celebration was scheduled at 4:30 am. Fortunately, it was one event that she eagerly looked forward to (after almost a week of practicing the angels' song), that's why she woke up easily after a little shaking, with a beautiful yawny smile on her face.

Tired and sleepy, rolled into one, she still let me take her pictures after the mass (of course, that is, after promising that I'll buy her pizza and let her join the Easter Egg Hunt.:)

HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE!

New Requirement for Google Adsense Publishers

While blog-hopping, I came across a post about Google's new inclusion and requirement in its TOS, which was released last month- a Privacy Policy that "advises visitors specifically about cookies and web beacons."

I'm not sure if all publishers are aware of this, by now. It's a fact that not everybody reads the TOS or Program Policies, moreso, to check if revisions have been made. They are just too long to read.

But when Adsense earnings are at stake, of course, everyone must take heed.

At first, I thought that since I'm using Blogger, and it has its own Privacy Policy (not to mention it's from Google!), I'm already covered. But apparently, even Bloggers, must have their own individual Privacy Policy, just to be sure not to be in direct violation of the TOS.

So I posted mine, silly as it may look in my previous post. I created a link for it in the side bar and in my template footer. Hopefully, this will suffice.

For a more detailed view on this new Google Adsense requirement, along with other new revisions on the TOS, check this very useful article by JenSense.

My version of Puttanesca

Yesterday, my mom asked me to cook tuna pasta. We chose to go meatless in observance of Good Friday, hence, the tuna dish. It's been a while since I last cooked it ala Puttanesca. Well, I don't even call it Puttanesca sauce, until after someone referred to it as such.

Whenever I cook, I don't have specific measurements in liters, cups, teaspoons, etc. I adjust as I go along, and just toss in a dash of this, and a little more of that. Luckily, it still tastes pretty well every time.

I am no recipe diva, but here's my version of the dish. The 'rough' estimate recipe that you can also try at home (at your own risk :P):

Puttanesca Sauce

1 tall can of tuna chunks/flakes in oil/brine
8-10 pcs. medium sized fresh tomatoes, sliced
2 packs/sachet Tomato/Spaghetti sauce
crushed garlic
2 pcs. big onions, chopped
pitted black olives
Italian seasoning herb
Parmesan cheese
Bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste
Butter/Canola/Olive oil

Saute garlic in butter, add onions, bay leaf, then tomatoes. Add tuna chunks/flakes. If it is in oil, you can add the oil too (for extra omega 3), if you like. If it is in brine, drain it first before adding. Pour in the tomato/spaghetti sauce. Let it simmer for around 5 minutes. Add Parmesan cheese (or regular cheese will do), salt and pepper, according to your taste. Lastly, add Italian seasoning and black olives.

I love to use a lot of herbs, tomatoes, garlic, onions and cheese. I also like my tomatoes chunky. You can always customize the dish according to your preference. If the sauce turns out to be a little sour for you, you can always add banana ketchup to neutralize the taste.

Bon Appetit!

The Day I Painted My Nails RED, Again…

Just before sleeping the other night, I remembered I grabbed a bottle of red nail polish during one of my quick trips to the neighborhood drugstore, Mercury Drug. So while my little princess was doing some tidying up in bed after some disgruntled resistance (putting away her dolls, books, magazines and other toys), so we can move comfortably and have a good night’s sleep without all the clutter she made that afternoon, I took the opportunity to do a little painting.

Coat the middle, the sides, repeat 3 times, and voila! It only took me less than 5 minutes to do my manicure. I’m not the type who goes to the salon regularly to get a 'cure'-- manicure, pedicure, what-have-you cure, or even a haircut. I’m such a low maintenance gal when it comes to that. Maybe I’m just too lazy to take the trip.

Well, no, not really.

Maybe I just don’t like all the cuticle-pushing, ingrown-cutting torture that one goes through (not to mention being 'murdered', at times), before finally getting the nails polished. If I can have it done without all the trouble and pain, I’d rather do it myself. That also applies to hair dyeing, hair spa or hot oil. Though I admit it’s quite relaxing to have someone massage my head, for a change-- and, of course, for a fee.

A few years back, when I was still in a high profile job, I change the color of my nails as often as I change my corporate clothes. I like the shades of copper, rust, pink, and of course, red-- I’ve always been in love with red. A lot of people say that I have beautiful hands, with long candle-like fingers (See for yourself, and tell me if you agree =). I don't really flaunt it, I'm just glad I have a nice pair.

When I became a mother and devoted my time to the little princess, one of the little luxuries that I had to give up was painting my nails. There's just sooooo much to do, and sooooo little time. Besides, it's not practical to have nail polish when you change nappies and wash poopies more than 5 times a day, right?

Psyched up as it may seem, but after painting my nails red, I felt a sudden rush of inspiration and confidence. I don’t know how a simple thing can do this much to lift my mood.

Maybe, it’s the color. Red is such a powerful color. It also means passion. And currently, I’m lacking passion in some areas of my life that has become monotonous and downright boring. I need some zest. A little fire, perhaps. I need to start living my life again with the overflowing enthusiasm of a one year old, starting to walk and ready to explore the world.

Just by looking at my red nails, I am reminded to try something new... do something productive... be passionate about my work.

BE POSITIVE.

And all these I get, from a 20-peso bottle of red polish.

Some may call it vanity. I call it empowerment.

Getting paid on MyLot

When the internet first made waves in the Philippines, I was one of those who rented the first cybercafes in Glorietta for P90/hour, just surfing and surfing the hours away after office. Internet is such an exciting world that I can't seem to get enough of it. It has become addicting, to the point of upsetting my then, tightly budgeted daily allowance, and draining my wallet in the process.

My constant surfing led me to search for ways on how to earn through the internet without investing cash.I don't remember how long I've been fascinated with the 'get paid to' programs. I joined a lot, and have been disappointed with each one of them because it always seem to take forever to reach payout. So I lost interest, stopped, and just forgot about them altogether.

Until a year or two after, stumbling upon MyLot, a community that gets paid for starting and responding to discussions, I found a renewed interest in the internet money-making business and gave it a quick try.

MyLot has 122,952 members to date, and still growing. Surprisingly, a good chunk of it are Filipinos. How much one earns per post depends on a unique system that computes based on specific requirements. So unlike other programs, there's no flat rate per post. I've been paid twice already and currently excited awaiting my third. They also pay you to add images along with your posts. I know it's not much, but it still adds to your daily earnings.

Apart from earning extra, the good part is that I made friends along the way. It's a fun and stable program that PAYS. No hypes, no big promises. Just make quality posts and you're well on your way to your first payout.

If you want to be apart of the community, JOIN MYLOT NOW!

My 1st attempt on Viral Tagging

I'm really clueless as to how this viral tagging thing really works, but I'm trying this anyways. I'm still taking baby steps here, I hope my new friends in the blogging world can bear with me.

Ris, actually tagged me with this after I asked her to. :P Thanks, girl!

Art by my Little Picasso

These artworks were taken from one of my little princess' collection of sketch pads. I scanned some of her drawings and placed them on yellow background to make them more colorful. I've always encouraged her to create art in her spare time.

Actually, create art and write.

These are two things that I have great passion for, that I want to pass on to her, somehow. Good thing that she has an inherent interest in them, that she didn't need a lot of pushing.

Constantly, I would be reminded to buy a new sketch pad, everytime the last 50-page pad gets consumed in a day or two.

To see the entire collection, please click here and tell me what you think. :)
