I Miss You!

You guys have been probably wondering where in the world I am hiding, being wordless and out of touch for a couple of months. Sorry, if I have seemingly orphaned this blog and stayed away for quite a long time. It's like visiting a house and no one's there to welcome you.

Yes, I know you missed me too.

As I always say, when normal day-to-day happenings, responsibilities and obligations take over and dominate my time, as much as I want to be Superwoman and juggle everything beautifully, I fail miserably at that.

Okay, I also Facebook a lot, as well. So now you really know why. *sooo guilty* (Level 302 in Mafia Wars, 32 in Farmville and mixed levels on a bunch of other Facebook apps, I know you understand and can so relate ;-)

What matters is I'm back --trying to be back consistently for good, hoping to fill your reading list again as you visit my humble home. And what better time to schedule a homecoming, than to do it on the 2nd year anniversary of Barefooted Me.

Yes, we turned 2 this month! And as my way of celebrating our 2nd year, I'd like to share with you some of the sketches I made during my non-blogging moments to make my absence seem worthwhile.

What Have I Been Up To?

Not much.

Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t been doing my Entrecard rounds lately, as I religiously did in the past. Things have gotten busy in the real world, and the search for Christmas gifts has taken over one of the top spots in my priority list. Forgive me if I missed commenting on your new posts, but I try to read as much whenever I can.

After switching to my own domain, my Alexa and Technorati rankings both suffered. I know it’s a phase everyone has to go through when shifting URLs. But I’m glad the former is catching up with the original figures.

I also had a little trouble with my SocialSpark account’s Real Rank due to the URL change, but had no problems with the rest. Until lately, when I had difficulty posting in PayPerPost and keep getting a "404-we-blame-Dan" page, that I realized it's not yet over. So I lost a lot of opportunities along the way, but I’m looking forward to a brand new year where hopefully, things will be better for my blogging endeavors.

This has fairly been a good blogging year. Barefooted Me started in early March with no blogging background whatsoever, grappling in the dark, and before I know it she has already turned 9 months old!

To my wonderful Entrecard supporters and advertisers from Project Wonderful who trust their ad placement in this blog, thank you. Please visit them, they are all truly talented and have great blogs and product offerings.

I’d like to thank everybody who keeps on dropping by here and showing my blog some love. Promise, I’ll catch up with you guys later! :)

Back with Something New!

A little update.

The 'red eye' is now well on its way to recovery; though still marked with red strains somewhere in the middle part, it looked much much better. My heartfelt thanks to those who freaked out, and yet left get well messages, as well as to those who chose not to comment, but uttered a silent prayer instead.

You guys are the best! *hugs*

Dad gave me a couple of supplements (Super B-Complex with Vitamin C and Folic Acid, Superior Amino, Centrum and Vitamin E) in order to prevent another bloodshot eye incident. Hopefully, this will help strengthen my seemingly weak blood vessels.

So what else is new?

I guess by now you've noticed a few add-ons I've been placing here lately. I did these stuff one at a time, whenever I get tired of sleeping and resting my eyes.

1. New Header with Black Background - This is so long overdue. I just remembered to make myself one when somebody left a message in my Cbox this afternoon saying, "flowers, flowers again". Ugh. I don't know if he liked them, but I was meaning to change that bouquet for the longest time. Anyways, thanks for the reminder, Harley!

I was going to wait until I finalize my preferred layout in mind so I could let Carlota do my customized template prize, but I was itching to change it now. :-) So what do you think?

By the way, for those who are wondering, those lips are mine. ^_^

8. Top Commentators - I've also added this widget to my sidebar as my way of saying thanks for always leaving comments that put a smile on my face. :-)

Whew! Having a bloodshot eye isn't so bad, huh?

A Quickie!

Given the fact that I am not quite fit to blog right now, I will just leave a quick post about a few updates on this two-month old baby that I am really happy about.

I noticed that my Alexa traffic rank updated today from 574,984 to 470,966! (I hope this is not a glitch!) Considering that a new blog starts from oblivion with a rank of 29,000,000++, for a two-month old, it is cool to be in the 400-500k bracket. Also, my Technorati has increased to 224 with a rank of 29,889, and so did my Blog Juice to 2.5 (not really updated, as my Alexa in the equation is still at 574,984). My blog worth now amounts to a whopping $107,262.60. How I wish I could encash it and buy a pink MacBook Air or something, huh? :P

Have you checked your stats lately? I suggest you download the Alexa Toolbar here to monitor your ranking and also to view instantly, the traffic rank of each site that you visit. I read somewhere that the more Alexa Toolbar users that visit your site, the better ranking you get.
